Using the site
Train Map UK is operated by Optional Ltd. By using it you accept these terms. The site is free, needs no account, and is provided for information and interest.
Accuracy
The railway data comes from OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, National Rail and Network Rail. Some of it is contributed by volunteers, some is published by the industry, and all of it is a snapshot rather than a live picture of the network. It may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Stations move, lines close, timetables change, and errors in the sources appear here too.
We take the accuracy of this seriously and correct mistakes when they are reported, which is why the contact page exists. But nothing here is an official source, and it is not checked by anyone at a train operator.
Live trains
The live map shows where trains are estimated to be, built from operators' own feeds and from position data that arrives in bursts rather than continuously. Between reports a train's position is worked out rather than observed. Times are predictions, not promises. Use the station departure boards or the operator's own app for anything you are relying on.
Ticket prices
Fares shown on this site come from National Rail's published fares data, not from any retailer. That matters in two ways.
- A walk-up price (Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak) is a published fare you can buy on the day, subject to the time and route restrictions shown with it.
- An Advance price is the cheapest fare ever published for that journey. Advance tickets are limited in number and sell out, so the price you find may be higher, and on the day of travel they are often gone entirely.
Prices are adult, standard class, single, and exclude railcard and child discounts. The data is refreshed regularly but fares change, so the price you are quoted when you book is the price that counts, not the one shown here.
We are not the railway
Train Map UK is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by National Rail, the Rail Delivery Group, Network Rail, or any train operator. Their names and marks are used only to identify their services, and remain their property.
Partner links
Some links to ticket retailers are partner links, which means we may be paid a small commission if you buy after following one. It costs you nothing, and it does not affect which prices are shown: those come from the National Rail data described above, and we do not change them to favour anyone. See the privacy page for what a partner link does with your data, which is nothing on our side.
Buying a print
The printed map is sold by Optional Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, and these terms apply to every order alongside your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, which nothing here reduces.
What you are buying. A print of the geographic London Underground map at 50 x 70 cm on 170 gsm silk paper, supplied unframed and rolled in a tube. The open print is dated in its title and redrawn each year as the network changes. The limited edition is fifty numbered copies; your number is allocated when your payment is taken and is printed into your copy. Each print is made to order by a print partner in the UK and dispatched to the address you give at checkout.
Price and payment. The price shown includes delivery to the UK. We are not registered for VAT, so none is charged or shown. Payment is taken in full at checkout by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. A discount code is valid only for the print it names, may be used once, and cannot be applied after payment.
Delivery. Prints are sent by tracked courier and usually arrive within 5 to 7 working days of your order. We email you a tracking link when the print leaves the printer. If it has not arrived within 14 days of that email, tell us and we will chase it or send another.
Cancelling and returning. You may cancel your order for any reason up to 14 days after you receive it. Tell us by email, then return the print to us within 14 days of telling us; we refund the full price, including the original delivery, within 14 days of receiving it back. The cost of returning it is yours unless the print is faulty or damaged. Because each print is made to order, we cannot stop an order once it has gone to print, but the right to cancel after delivery is unaffected.
Damaged or faulty prints. If your print arrives damaged, misprinted or otherwise not as described, email us a photo within 30 days and we will send a replacement or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer, at no cost to you.
Contact. Write to us through the contact page or reply to any order email. These terms and any dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Liability
The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, accurate, complete or uninterrupted.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from relying on this site, including a missed train, a ticket bought for a service that does not run, or a journey planned around information that turned out to be wrong.
Some liability cannot lawfully be excluded, and this page does not try to: liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, liability for fraud, and your statutory rights if you use the site as a consumer.
Links to other sites
Where we link out, what happens next is that site's responsibility, under its terms and its privacy policy rather than ours.
Using our content
The underlying railway and station data belongs to its sources and carries their licences, credited on the attribution page. The site's own design, code and written content belong to Optional Ltd. Please link to us freely; ask before republishing substantial parts.

These terms may change, and material changes will appear in what's new. Questions, and corrections to the map, go through the contact page.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
